The Chula Vista Church of Christ is a non-denominational church of Christ. We are a group of Christians that believe Jesus is the living Son of God (John 1:1-4) and also in the inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures (2 Tim 3:16). We do not look for instruction from any source outside of God's inspired Word. We do not abide by any council, creed or governing body's decisions.

We do look to Christ as the head of the Church (Col 1:18). Chula Vista Church of Christ is not the Church, we are members of Christ's Church (Eph 1:22-23) and as such we come together for worship, prayer, study and fellowship (Phil 2:2). We strive for love and unity in the Spirit as part of Christ's Church.

We have been added to the membership of Christ's church (Acts 2:47) by our obedience to His gospel   (2 Thess 1:6-9). Having heard the word (Rom 10:17) we have believed (Heb 11:6). We have repented of our sins (Acts 2:38) and confessed that Christ is the living Son of God (Matt 10:32-33). We have been baptized for the forgiveness of our sins (Mark 16:16) and now live by faith (Rom 1:17), striving to keep Christ at the center of our lives.

The Chula Vista Church of Christ follows the example of the early Church given in the Bible. We consider ourselves a New Testament Church. Elders (Titus 1:5) oversee the spiritual needs of the congregation. Deacons (1 Tim 3:12) oversee specific ministries within the congregation and work under the oversight of the Elders.

Our singing is to praise our God and edify the body as a whole (Eph 5:19). The preaching is for the purpose of both teaching and building up the body (Col 3:16) so we are in turn found prepared for sharing the gospel individually and as a group. We partake of the Lord's supper weekly as was the example of the early Church (1 Cor 11:23-29). By doing so we remember that Christ is the head of the Church and the sole hope we have of salvation (John 14:6); through the grace that was given in His sacrifice on the cross (Rom 3:23-29).

It is our desire to reach out with Christian love and the Gospel to reach the lost of this world (Matt 28:19-20). Our worship begins here on the first day of the week but continues in our lives throughout the week. Part of our worship is giving back to the Lord a portion of that with which we have been blessed (1 Cor 16:2). We are a self-supporting congregation and rely on the financial contributions of those who have placed their workmanship with this congregation for its work to continue.

All that we do as a congregation is ultimately aimed at bringing Christ to those whom desire salvation. As Christians we will then teach, encourage and challenge each other to growth and good works (Heb 10:24) reaching out to all who desire a saving relationship with Christ. This is the commission that He has given us (Matt 28:18-20). We welcome you and hope that you will see Christ within us and come to know the love of Christ through us
